Who am I, and why not?

Raymond Leddy: Pilancones, Gran Canaria, Spain; Founder of Cycle Gran Canaria and the 1st City Bike Tour in the Canaries,thereby proving once and for all we are Europeans and not Africans! I wore a frustrated suit many years ago and after reaching a personal goal in another sport which I am too embarrassed to name, I finally took the oath to MTB in England in 1989. From the days of Barrie Clarke and Dave Baker swapping victories every Sunday, the long distance odysseys on the MTB in the beautiful South Downs of England, the criss crossing of the Alps, the conversion to Road love, the discarding of the suit for the bermudas and now the business again, except in the world of cycling. I am lucky and hope to remain lucky with this project, to make people happy in the saddle and make some realise goals that they thought they wouldn't otherwise have here on Gran Canaria, which without doubt is the only place to cycle every winter in Europe.

Why am I even here!!

I want to be able to take a break from the business side of Cycle Gran Canaria. Being a contentious sort, who reads too much,I occasionally let my politics intrude on the work, but then cycling politics are an innocent relief from the insanity of real world politics, and so here we reside. So whether you agree or disagree, it's all my fault!
